freuds launched the McCain We Are Family display at the National Portrait Gallery.
Opening as part of McCain’s two-year sponsorship of the NPG Family Programmes, the display aims to address the misrepresentation of real families in today’s society after research revealed half the British population do not believe popular culture portrays the reality of modern day family life.
The pop-up exhibition features a melting pot of families from across Britain and celebrates some of the unique setups that exist today from multi-generational living, to single parents and traditional family units across varying demographics, age ranges and ethnicities. No filters, no stereotypes, just the joyful reality of families shot in and around mealtimes.
The stunning collection of portraits has been shot by renowned photographer, Siân Davey, who travelled the UK on behalf of McCain to capture intimate photography of British families and their individual stories.
The preview was attended by a host of media including the FT, The Guardian, the British Journal of Photography and the Evening Standard to name a few, alongside senior stakeholders from both McCain and the NPG. The full collection of 23 images is available to view for free at the National Portrait Gallery up until 7th October 2017.
The event marks the final phase of the We Are Family campaign which has achieved widespread coverage to date across key national, trade and consumer outlets.
