July 5th 2018 marked the 70th anniversary of the National Health Service – and freuds helped the national institution celebrate this important milestone.
Over a number of months the freuds team worked with the NHS to help them thank all nurses, doctors, staff and volunteers, streamline their innovation narrative and launch their biggest ever national recruitment drive. And on the morning of Thursday 5th July, a short film was shared showing NHS staff, volunteers and patients coming together to have a picnic.
freuds connected the NHS with Sainsbury’s and worked with Atomized Studios to create the one-minute film aiming to get #ILoveTheNHS trending with people sharing their stories about why they love the institution. The film was preceded by NHS England launching its biggest ever recruitment drive, with freuds helping them inspire the public to choose a career in the NHS.
The campaign kicked off with a focus on filling the 34,000 nursing vacancies in England last year and was supported by a heart-warming TV advert. It secured blanket national coverage and strong broadcast coverage throughout the day.
Health and Social Care Secretary Jeremy Hunt, said: “Being a nurse or midwife in the NHS is one of the most exciting and fulfilling careers anyone can undertake. I want this campaign to inspire people to take up a career in the NHS and help boost the number of home grown nurses and midwives.”
In addition, freuds’ innovation narrative document is being used as an overview of what innovation means to the NHS – now, and in the future, in the context of NHS70, and the many and varied achievements of the NHS so far.
