The Isle of Skye – the home of Talisker whisky – hosted an ‘elemental adventure’ for a group of bartenders, influencers and media from across Europe, as part of the brand’s ‘Made by the Sea’ campaign.
With head to toe waterproofs, hiking boots and even facial midge nets in tow, the freuds team took on the unforgiving terrain, insects, weather and lack of WiFi / phone signal, to give guests the opportunity to explore the island, discover what it means to be ‘Made by the Sea’ – and in turn, discover what they themselves are ‘made by’.
The adventure began with a sailing yacht journey on board the Lady Avenel up the dramatic coastline to Talisker Bay, followed by a two hour hike and foraging expedition across country to the Talisker Wilderness Bar – a completely bespoke pop up bar created in the middle of nowhere (as the name suggests), with stunning sea views.
Before spending the night sleeping under the stars, guests enjoyed Skye-inspired cocktail making sessions, a luxury campfire dinner and were even treated to a beautiful sunset. The following day saw guests sail into Loch Harport and disembark at the Talisker distillery for a tour, a wee dram and a banquet dinner created by Michelin star chef, Marcello Tully.
