Matt Barbet joined freuds in June 2018, and prior to that, he worked in broadcast news for twenty years, much of it as a correspondent and anchor on British television. In the UK, he has been seen and heard on the BBC, ITV, Sky News and Channel 5, while globally millions of viewers have tuned in to see him front Premier League News. He still occasionally appears fronting shows like The Wright Stuff. Matt is incredibly experienced both in the tv studio and in the field, reporting from Afghanistan, Haiti and Ethiopia and other less-than hospitable places. He has reported from The Oscars twice, fronted live coverage of Royal Weddings, and elections from Downing Street and at The White House. Equally adept on radio, Matt is known to millions from his time reading the news on BBC Radio 1 while he has presented Weekend Breakfast on BBC Radio 5 Live. He also fronted The Briefing on ground-breaking online station Monocle 24 from launch. As a written-word journalist, he has been in The Independent, Monocle, and Cycling Plus. He loves endurance sports and has pedalled his way to completing the gruelling Étape du Tour in the French Alps and finished two London Marathons. He lives in North London with his wife Katie and their two girls.
