GambleAware launches the second phase of its Women’s Prevention campaign to raise awareness of vital support available for women who may be struggling with their gambling.
The charity commissioned research that found one in 4 (24%) women who gamble expect to increase their gambling in the coming months due to the cost-of-living crisis, with one in ten (12%) having already turned to gambling in an effort to supplement income.
A film featuring media psychologist Linda Papadopoulos speaking to GambleAware’s CEO Zoë Osmond and Jo Mustafa, who struggled with gambling herself, shines a light on the power of conversation to encourage women to come forward and talk about gambling, ultimately breaking down the stigma and shame that many feel around the issue.
